Reservations for the summer period will be possible online only from 1 May, for the winter period from 1 October.

In the winter the hut can only be reached on foot in about 2 hours following the winter paths that start from Camperio or with the "GORDA-EXPRESS" transport service

As part of the ongoing projects in Gorda (astronomical observatory and hut expansion)

the GAIA room is temporarily positioned next to the hut.

The Million Stars Hotel room "GAIA Gorda Sotto le Stelle" will later be integrated into the hut.

GAIA-Gorda Sotto le Stelle 

Promoted in the Switzerland Tourism campaign "Million Stars Hotel", GAIA is located close to the Gorda Hut, it is the ideal place to live a special and romantic experience. 

Thanks to the particular construction and the large glass walls, guests can enjoy a unique experience in nature.

Gorda, located on a plateau at 1800 m. offers a unique and spectacular view of the Blenio Valley, as well as the mighty peaks and the Adula glacier. The place is internationally famous among astronomy scholars for the optimal conditions for stargazing.

-GAIA: offers a bed for 2 people with duvet and pillows, electricity thanks to its own solar system, it is also heated and therefore accessible even in the coldest months.

-GAIA: is available during the opening period of the Capanna Gorda, approximately from June to October every day and from December to March on weekends and during school holidays.

-Reservations: directly on the online platform according to the availability of the calendar.

-Dinner: GAIA guests have a table reserved for them in the Capanna and a choice between 5 specially selected menus, after booking on the online platform, you can access the guest form and book your dinner and other offers. Only thanks to your consumptions can we guarantee the supervised opening of the Capanna and related activities, therefore private consumptions (drinks and Pic-Nics) are not permitted. In the GAIA room it is not permitted to consume meals!

-Rates: during the promotion period of Switzerland Tourism, an overnight stay for two people including breakfast varies from CHF 245.- to CHF 295.- depending on the period. Payment directly at the hut, with credit cards (Postcard-Visa-Mastercard), Twint but preferably in cash. 

-Services: In the hut there are toilets and showers, entry is always guaranteed during the 24-hour opening period, in the hut dormitories there are 2 beds reserved for GAIA guests in case of emergency or for any need. 

-Animals: In GAIA as well as in the hut they are not allowed, for them there is an enclosure with a thermal kennel outside or a box located on the lower floor of the hut. 

-Accessibility: In summer you can reach the hut by following the mountain road that from Largario or Olivone leads to Alpe di Gorda, in winter on foot in approx. 2 hours from Camperio or with the Gorda-Express.

-Important: GAIA is located close to the Hut, we recommend appropriate clothing (mountain), both in summer and winter, for travel. 

Bring a towel with you if you intend to use the shower (fr. 5.-), the shower room is heated in winter only on request. 

You do not need to bring a sleeping bag or sheet bag for the overnight stay in GAIA.
